BRG Perspectives: Understanding PP 19/2026 and the Expanded Authority of Danantara
The landscape of Indonesia's state-owned enterprise (SOE) governance is undergoing a fundamental transformation. The BUMN Research Group (BRG) Lembaga Management FEB UI has released its latest perspective analyzing Government Regulation No. 19 of 2026 (PP 19/2026). This crucial regulation amends PP 10/2025, redefining the organization and governance of the Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara).
PP 19/2026 provides a robust legal framework that significantly expands Danantara's authority in managing state investments. Key strategic changes include granting Danantara the power to establish Investment Holdings and Operational Holdings. Furthermore, the regulation opens the door for these national development-oriented investment holdings to receive direct state capital injections (PMN) from the State Budget (APBN). In terms of corporate governance, Danantara now holds a strengthened mandate to propose candidates for BUMN directors and commissioners, as well as to appoint leadership within its holdings.
